An independent label born in the cellars of the pilot hotel, and a recording studio that has become one of the benchmark addresses of the French scene.
Every project is a long road, not a one-off.
Born in the cellars of our pilot hotel in Paris, French Theory Records is an independent label that refuses to be boxed in. We produce, publish, co-publish and stand by our artists from the first note to the stage — every project is a long road, not a one-off.
Our roster tells our story. Barotomara traces a luminous, introspective indie pop. César carries a grounded, finely written French rap that makes no concessions. Kel-P opens the label to afrobeats and the African scenes redrawing the world map of music. Chicanos brings the energy of reggaeton and a proudly Latin identity. Four voices, four musical languages, one house.
We are not chasing numbers. We sign few, we sign long, and we give each artist the means to see their vision through — production, publishing, co-publishing, management, distribution. A craftsman's trade, demanding and patient, which finds its meaning when the music meets its audience.
Our recording studio is far more than a technical space. It is a place of creation — where artists come to lay down their voice, search for their sound, and sculpt the records that will define their era. Since opening, it has become one of the benchmark addresses of the French urban scene, chosen by those who know what they want to hear.
Vocal takes, instrument takes, artistic direction — the raw material of the record, captured with precision and with the attention it demands. Our sound engineers work alongside the artists, in a dialogue that begins at the first session and continues down to the last detail.
The moment the material takes shape. Every track balanced, every texture refined, every sonic intention brought to what it should be. Our studio is equipped to host the most demanding projects and to render the artist's vision faithfully.
The final step — the one that gives the record its coherence and its presence on every listening system. A goldsmith's work, executed with the same rigour as the steps before it — because an album is judged on the detail no one notices and everyone feels.
This list is not a showcase — it is the result of a choice, theirs: artists who needed a place, a team, an ear to give their emotions the shape they were looking for. We are proud of it, without making it a selling point.
Every certified record that has passed through our walls is a trace — of an encounter between an artist, a project, and a place that knew how to support it. We display them for what they say: that this studio is not a place you pass through, but a place you come back to.
